5.5 earthquake in Nevada rumbles across Northern California
SACRAMENTO — A 5.7 magnitude earthquake occurred in Nevada just east of Lake Tahoe late Monday afternoon, the U.S. Geological Survey reported. The epicenter of the quake was in the Lyon County town of Yerington, just east of Tahoe and Carson City. The shaking was felt as far west as Sacramento, California and down to Modesto.
The 2-year-old boy was taken to a hospital in critical condition before he was reported to be in stable condition.
