Brooklyn Nets forward Cam Johnson heard his name in trade rumors ahead of this week's NBA trade deadline. After the deadline passed, Johnson opened up about what that experience for him was like. When compared and analyzed among the other wins the Nets secure this season, the bright spots amid a rebuilding campaign defined more by exits and acclimations than the wins sprinkled in between, this one won’t go down as the smoothest.

While many teams are interested, Sidery most recently reports that multiple teams are preparing to pull out of trade talks, which could be a problem for Brooklyn regarding its rebuild. The Nets hold a steep asking price for Johnson, looking for at least two first-round picks or a promising young player with at least one pick.

The Brooklyn Nets were expected to be major sellers at the NBA trade deadline. Earlier in the 2024-25 season, they made some noise by trading away Dorian Finney-Smith to the Los Angeles Lakers for some draft picks.
