LANSING — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer will give her annual State of the State speech on Feb. 26, a month later than she typically does. The address at a joint legislative session will be her seventh.
About a year ago, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer called on Michigan lawmakers to create a research and development tax credit for businesses and a new fund to support start-up companies in the state.
The address will be held in the Michigan House Chambers in front of a joint session of the Michigan House of Representatives and the Michigan Senate and broadcast live throughout the state.
