In a statement Tuesday, the families of Samantha Chun and Joseph Fujioka said “both kids were born and raised in Hawaii and know and love the ocean.”

Fujioka, 18, and 17-year-old Samantha Chun were the subject of a multiagency four-day search after they didn’t return home on the night of Jan. 17 following an evening on the North Shore. The ocean search for the two missing Mililani teenagers was suspended at sunset Tuesday.

HONOLULU (Island News) -- First responders resumed their search Sunday morning for 17-year old Samantha Chun and 18-year old Joseph Fujioka. They were last seen at a Mililani convenience store on Friday. Their belongings were found at Ke iki beach on the North Shore of Oahu Saturday morning.
