We visited Zwinger in 2023. Unfortunately the exterior was a building site BUT architecture and art of this museum is stunning. Not quite the Uffizzi level but close. Full review by piotrekiola

Questions & answers

Q:
I see on their website they offer 90-min. guided tours for just a few Euros more. Is there a specific time for the guided tours?
A:
Sorry that I can't help on this -we didn't do it. I would email the hotel.
Q:
Hi, is this something you need to pre book?
A:
No you don’t need to prebook but it is closed on Mondays ... the grounds are open but you can’t access the exhibits.
Q:
Hi i just want to ask if they are open on friday its a german holiday? Thanks
A:
I would think they are open on Good Friday but Google them for phone or website and you can make sure.
Q:
Thanks for the info on public parking. Is it free parking?
A:
There's a big paying parking lot less than 10 min walk from Zwinger, near the Neumarkt. It is paying in coins, so have them with you. Dresden city center is small, easy covered on foot.
Q:
Is entrance to the compound where the fountains are free?
A:
Yes, it is free to get to the gardens and walk the grounds. It is not free to enter any of the museums. But do go to the Gemaldegalerie
